What we collect

We collect minimal information to operate the site and understand how it's used:

  • Usage data — pages visited, time on site, browser type, and approximate location inferred from your IP address.
  • Votes — when you vote on a fact, we store the fact ID and vote value (👍 or 👎) to maintain global counts. We don't store any personal identifiers alongside votes.
  • Local preferences — your theme choice (dark/light) and photo preference are stored in your browser's localStorage. This never leaves your device.
  • Email — only if you choose to contact us directly.

Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics (gtag.js) to understand traffic patterns and improve the site. Google Analytics may use cookies or similar technologies to collect anonymous usage data. You can opt out using Google's opt-out tool.

How we use it

  • Operate and improve the site
  • Display global vote counts on facts
  • Measure traffic and understand which content is popular
  • Prevent abuse and protect security

Sharing

We do not sell your data. We may share information with service providers (like Google Analytics), and when required by law.

Your choices

You can control or clear cookies through your browser settings at any time. Votes are stored server-side by fact ID only — there's no account to delete.

Changes

We may update this policy. Continued use of the site after changes means you accept the updated policy.
